Suz’s Great Granola
This is a no salt, reduced sugar, reduced fat granola recipe adapted from reviewing a number of online recipes options and then experimenting to get it ‘delicious’. It’s easy to make, healthier and less expensive than store brands. Try it with plain yogurt and fresh berries for a super summer breakfast or dessert!

Ingredients
2 cps large flake rolled oats
1/2 cp slivered almonds
1/2 cp shredded coconut (sweetened or unsweetened as you prefer)
1/8 cp corn syrup
1/8 cp honey
1/8 cp vegetable oil (canola preferred)
1 apple, peeled, cored and diced
1 t cinnamon
1 – 100 ml serving of unsweetened applesauce (individual portion size)
Dried fruits – raisins, cranberries etc. before storing, or at serving time.
Instructions
Mix together in one bowl:
2 cps large flake rolled oats
1/2 cp slivered almonds
Diced apple
1 t cinnamon
1/2 cp shredded coconut (sweetened or unsweetened as you prefer)
Mix first in separate bowl and stir into dry ingredients until well mixed:
1/8 cp corn syrup
1/8 cp honey
1/8 cp vegetable oil (canola preferred)
1 – 100 ml serving of unsweetened applesauce (individual portion size)
Preheat oven to 250F (not any hotter or it will burn!)
Spread on a large baking sheet (use parchment paper if possible).
Cook for 1 hr 20 min, stirring every 20 minutes for an even, golden colour.
Remove from oven and let cool completely before putting into jar or container to store.
Add any dried fruits – raisins, cranberries etc. before storing, or at serving time.
